Netz Home WiFi Range Troubleshooting
This article refers to our WiFi Alarm Systems
Our WiFi Security Alarms are often very reliable. However, a small number of customers may run into issues making the initial connection. Please refer to this document for troubleshooting advice.
General Advice
- Please use new batteries when pairing the device
- The WiFi Alarm system will attempt to connect to the WiFi network with the strongest signal, this is usually the closest router/device. It is advised to keep the sensor and your phone as close to the router as possible when setting up the device
Pairing Problems/Timeout Error
- When using your mobile phone to scan the WiFi device's QR code, we recommend scanning the QR code that is between the two batteries on the WiFi device (instead of scanning the QR code on the piece of card that's included with the instructions)
- Check that your mobile phone is connected to the same WiFi as the device when attempting to pair the two.
- Check that your WiFi network is operating on a 2 ghz signal and not 5 ghz. This shouldn't be an issue if there is only one WiFi network, but some routers/networks may have two seperate networks that can be used to connect to the internet.
- We recommend always entering your WiFi password into the app (even if you use the WPS button)
- Resetting to factory settings may also help (this option appears during the set-up)
- Finally, try setting up the sensor both with and without WPS as one may work when the other does not
